THE ROLE OF FIELD SCHOOLS IN ACHIEVING AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN NORTH SINAI GOVERNORATE

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the role of field schools in achieving agricultural development in North Sinai Governorate, by identifying the personal, social and economic characteristics of the respondents, identifying the role of farmer field schools in achieving agricultural development in the study area, identifying the factors associated with and affecting the role of field schools in achieving agricultural development in the study area, identifying the problems facing the farmers surveyed during their participation in farmer field schools and during the agricultural season, identifying the opinions and suggestions of the farmers surveyed in developing and improving farmer field schools and the opinions and proposed solutions to the problems they face during the agricultural season. A regular random sample of farmers participating in farmer field schools in Bir al-Abd Center in North Sinai Governorate was selected, numbering (2415) farmers and enrolled in (13) field schools in Bir al-Abd Center in North Sinai Governorate. The research sample was selected using a regular random method from the lists of farmers participating in farmer field schools, so that the total number of respondents in the sample was 343 farmers participating in farmer field schools. The results showed that 52.4% of the total respondents believe that the role of farmer field schools in achieving agricultural development in the study area is low.
